One of the methods that is used today to make different parts is heat treatment, which, if done accurately, can produce metals of different standards with completely specific physical and chemical properties. Heat treatment is a non-destructive method to change the properties of materials, but it is the first step of casting, because in casting, a suitable alloy is produced and it can be cast according to the desired properties. Heat treatment makes hardness specific and consistent. To harden steel, steel castings are heated until the main molecular austenite is formed and then immersed in a cooling oil or water bath. When austenite undergoes cold shock, it forms a slightly irregular crystal structure called martensite. This material is harder due to the distortion of carbon in each martensite molecule.
